The Dance of Effort

The 'Dance of Effort' is what I call it. You want to create change in your life and you proceed to put forth effort to achieve the desired change. You know you want the desired change. You know you deserve it. You may even feel the desired goal almost in your grasp.

On many occasions once you set this process in motion a kind of polarization takes place in your energy field. The thoughts, feelings, beliefs and past experiences that run counter to the desired change seem to pop up everywhere. "How could I possibly think that I could pull this off?" "You need a degree to do that I don't have one." "I could never afford that." And so on and so on and so on. At this point you have before you what looks like an opportunity to fight with yourself and push against old beliefs. Of course whatever negative thoughts you push against will only give them more strength and deepen your cycle of confusion.

Consider the following. When… feeling on the verge of a new future… you find yourself becoming dispirited by the naysayer in your head, immediately ask yourself these questions. Ask "how do these thoughts make me feel?" Next ask "now that I feel this way do I want to continue feeling this way beyond this moment?" Then create and feel a positive thought form within you by tapping into your sense of knowing and truth about what is ahead for you. If that is too difficult because you are really bogged down or conflicted, then step outside into the sunshine, breathe, move or blink your eyes a few times to break the spell of your limited thinking, then step into the new thought form that will help you break through to the next level.

Have fun. It's a dance after all.
